AEON Bandar Puchong recently organised an Eco Lantern Making Competition. The initiative was AEON’s effort to keep the tradition going and to encourage the habit of recycling. During the competition, contestants were tasked to create a lantern using at least 70% of recycled materials. A total of 30 AEON Malaysia Cheers Club (AMCC) members took part. Making the event extra special was Yang Berhormat Elizabeth Wong, the Executive Councillor of Selangor (Tourism, Consumer Affairs and Environment), who was present to hand out attractive prizes to the winners.
The event was followed by a fun lantern parade around IOI Mall—led by a Dragon Dance, no less. Members of the public were also treated to delicious mooncakes and tea, while lighted lanterns carried by children and hung on trees made the night a delightful one to remember.
